Entering a Room

Using Your Room
Once you have entered a ClackPoint room, you will see the following screen, with the main components highlighted:

Basic room view highlighting main interface components.
Status Bar
At the top of the screen, the status bar displays your nickname and room number, as well as the participant code you should use to identify a simultaneous dial-in audio session from the phone with this web session. For example, to use a phone to enter this room with audio, the user would dial-in to ClackPoint and enter *52193 in place of a room number. ClackPoint would then know that the call represented the audio part of this session, place them in the correct room automatically and modify their status accordingly.
Buttons
To raise your hand, or to use your web browser for audio in this conference, click the appropriate button. The visible buttons change according to your current state, e.g., if your hand is already raised, the raise-hand button changes to a lower-hand button.
Room Members
The current occupants of the room are listed along with their status (green for online, yellow for away, red for busy), and their audio status:
![]()
Silent .. Speaking .. Muted
Chat History
Past text messages sent into the room are displayed here, with timestamp and originator where appropriate.
Chat Input
Type messages into this part of the window and press enter to send them into the conference. The relative sizes of the chat input and history windows can be changed by dragging the horizontal separator.
Video Chat
When you decide to become audible in a room by clicking the Call button, then if you have suitable hardware attached to your computer you will see a third button appear indicating video capability. Clicking this adds your video to the room and displays the video window to the right of the chat window. Room occupants who have enabled video show the video icon in their roster entry. Clicking on one of these icons causes that occupant’s video to be received.
